Received this e-mail from U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D. OH) in support of Amy McGrath’s (D. KY) U.S. Senate campaign:
At a young age, Amy McGrath wanted to be a fighter pilot, but women weren’t allowed to serve in combat roles in our military. She wrote a letter to her representatives, asking them to change the law. She never heard back from her senator, Mitch McConnell.
Now, Amy can replace Mitch in the Senate.
Split a donation between my campaign and Amy’s and help her defeat Mitch McConnell.
Not much has changed for McConnell. He’s done everything in his power to stop progress in the Senate, proudly naming himself the “grim reaper” of legislation. And he’s been a right-hand man to President Trump’s agenda, helping shut down the government and trying to dismantle health care for millions, multiple times.
Amy would be a welcome change to McConnell’s brand of no-show leadership in Congress.
A veteran, Amy served in the U.S. Marines for 20 years so she knows what strong leadership looks like. She’s in this race to fight for Kentuckians and working parents -- not someone else’s agenda.
But she’s up against the special-interest groups that will do everything they can to make sure McConnell wins.
She needs our grassroots support: Split a donation between my campaign and Amy’s.
With gratitude,
Sherrod
