This rant is directed at all of those rich people who got tax breaks from George Bush, Speaker of the House Ryan, and Donald Trump.
It's a very simple rant.
What did those tax breaks do for you?
Did they make you healthier, more happy, or better?
How did they enrich you except to let you accumulate even more wealth?
I can tell you one thing they did do.
They back-fired.
Your tax breaks made you afraid, afraid that someone might take it all away. They made you afraid of those who really have quite a bit less than you. That scares you, I know, because whenever you see a homeless person sleeping on the street, it gets to you. It scares you because whenever an unemployed person gets angry or upset and has access to guns, you worry they may be coming after you. It scares you enough to put up gates and guards around the places where you live.
The truth is those tax breaks were for your ego, not your material needs. You have enough money to live a good lifetime with all the trinkets you'll ever need, and still pass money on to your survivors.
Wouldn't it have been better if you accepted the fact that sharing a minor portion of your wealth might have made for a more stable country here in the U.S.A., in which everybody – yes, everybody –- had enough income and healthcare and security, so we all got along?
That's my rant to the already-rich millionaires who had enough before their wonderful tax breaks caused so many problems that makes them feel so uneasy today.
P.S. It’s easy enough to fix. You know the solution.
