I’ve been keeping fairly even keel during this crisis. My family and I live in a state that is under a stay at home order, our daycare has been closed for almost two weeks, and we’ve been working from home for almost the last 3-4 weeks. Things can be stressful for everyone in the house, but we’ve made it work.
Then watching the news of the virus spreading and the incompetent administration making things worse, I’ve calmed myself down knowing that, even though things are getting bad out there, we have the medical professionals to help, and hopefully this social distancing will help as well. Eventually we can kick out Trump in November.
The last 24 hours broke that calm exterior I’ve tried to keep. These are the 3 things that combined, broke me
1. The my pillow guy giving his “speech” in the Rose Garden
2. Deaths surpassing the amount of people who died on 9/11
3. McConnell blaming impeachment for the administration’s slow response.
Number #1 angered me so much because it showed how little Trump cares about any of the suffering going on. Yes, he’s downplayed the virus, he’s accused nurses of stealing masks, he’s attacked governors, but this was just his ego going berserk. He let a guy who makes fucking PILLOWS give a speech at a pandemic update press conference. On a day that nearly 600 people died, instead of talking about the victims of this tragedy, we were given the my pillow guy talking about god not being in the classroom. I was speechless at how fragile Trump’s ego is that he needs that guy to talk about him in front of the press.
Number #2 just saddened me because like many of us on this site, we remember 9/11 vividly. That entire day is etched in my memory. That was another moment where ineptitude and not acting on intelligence led to many deaths in the US. Now we’re just gonna see that on a massive scale. If what Fauci and Brix are saying is true, 100-200K deaths in this country due to the virus; the depressing stat of the total deaths passing 9/11 crystalized it in my brain. We are going to lose so many people because of rank incompetence from this administration.
Number #3 enraged me when I read about McConnell’s interview. Let’s say impeachment did delay the Trump administration. Trump was “acquitted” on February 5th. Trump did not invoke a national emergency until March 13th. That’s over a month where this administration did nothing. ONE ENTIRE MONTH where there was no impeachment. And they did nothing. They did worse than nothing, they kept downplaying it. And what enrages me about this is MSM and conservative outlets will play it up and “journalists” will ask people, do you think impeachment is to blame? Like it’s some honest question to ask when we all know it’s COMPLETE BULLSHIT.
After those 3 things happened, I’m just kinda lost. This man and his GOP cult cannot control government again for another 4 years. Hell they shouldn’t control it now!
This is like a slow moving Hurricane Katrina enveloping the entire nation. And we’re getting a worse response than what we got under the Dubya administration.
I’ll do everything I can to help people, and to vote these evil bastards out, but these last 24 hours broke me. I don’t think I’m alone.

Wow, this got a lot of responses.
I wanted add on to the “impeachment distracted Trump” argument. Like many comments to this post, Republicans are essentially saying the Trump administration cannot competently do two things. So somehow Democrats are to blame for that. Just ridiculous.
The worst people Trump and the GOP are.
