"Mankind has always dreamed of destroying the sun" - Mr. Burns
Mr. Burns was correct, only he was speaking for the GOP, which only thinks it speaks for mankind. This destructive mojo may just be a growing problem for the GOP's front message-men, which include such even-tempered luminaries as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and of course, Ann Coulter. It's a problem because they are becoming caricatures of themselves, at least to me.
Day after day, they don their "red team" bikini bathing suits, jump into the GOP wading pool and begin their synchronized dance routine, a compelling, and some would say "artistic" expression of
rage against the truth. It is a spittle-flecked sight to behold, although, I generally tune it out these days, considering it's the same dance every day, and bores the shit out of me.
Plus, I can no longer keep myself from laughing. Used to be I wanted to know what the other side was thinking, but now it's just funny.
Every time I see red-bikini team in action, all I can think of is Will Ferrell sitting at the dinner table, exclaiming defiantly over the snippy back talk of his family, raising his voice for the entire world to hear:
"I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!!!! YOU DO NOT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!! I WORK TOO HARD TO DEAL WITH THIS STUFF!! I WORK TOO HARD!! I'M A DIVISION MANAGER IN CHARGE OF 49 PEOPLE!! I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!!"
Reminds me of another GOP front man that complained the Presidency was "hard work".
Indeed.
