Dare to dream! - The next 4 years....

Thu Nov 18, 2004 at 05:44:44 AM PDT

OK, I'm just having a little fun with the ol' crystal ball here, and decided I'd see what's in store for us over the next 4 years:

(See extended copy.)

2005 - Republicans consolidate power and throw out the 22nd Amendment, planning to run GW for a third term.  Bush cuts taxes to zero for anyone who voted Republican, signs into law the "No Theocrat Left Behind" bill, and officially changes the name of the United States to "God-blessed America."  Congress creates separate bathrooms and water fountains for Democratic members.  Lieberman declares that "Democrats who refuse to recognize their innate inferiority when compared to Republicans are not what this country needs at this time."

2006 - Scandals continue to mount against Bush, Cheney, DeLay, et al., the Iraq-Iran-Syria War worsens and the economy sinks like a stone.  Halliburton is given Cabinet authority.  New Senate rules forbid Democrats from voting on any bills.  Lieberman votes in favor of the measure and is immediately suspended for violating it.  A frustrated American public finally comes to their senses and tosses the Republicans out of Congress.  An inadvertent error in the new Diebold software causes all Republican votes to appear for "Saddam Hussein."  Election turnout, also according to Diebold, is a record 127%.

2007 - The new Democratic Congress moves swiftly to impeach Bush and Cheney, and prosecutions move forward against Rumsfeld, Rice, and ex-Congressman Delay.  Inauguration of President Pelosi.  The French capture bin Laden.  Freerepublic members' heads explode simultaneously.  Bush and Osama become cellmates at the Hague.

2008 - Giuliani defeated in a landslide by a rejuvenated Bill Clinton.  Limbaugh cries.  Hannity commits suicide.  Dubya chokes on a pretzel while awaiting trial for war crimes.  Cheney, in a burst of smoke and flame, vanishes into the netherworld which gave him birth.

2009 - Peace and prosperity return to the world.

Just trying to lighten the somber mood around this place!
