A suggestion for the Kerry campaign

Sat Sep 04, 2004 at 01:46:33 PM PDT

Kerry has suggested that he and Bush have regular debates. The Bush people have predictably declined the invitation. Why doesn't Kerry name a time and place, preferably not on Larry King, and challenge Bush. I'm not talking about a polite invitation, but a challenge. Suggest he's a coward if he doesn't show. Then when Bush doesn't show, Kerry can use the occasion as an opportunity to do what he did last Thursday. It creates some drama. That's what our sensationalistic news media likes - real life drama. It raises a question for those idiot pundits to discuss: Will Bush show up? Is he really afraid to debate Kerry one on one on the issues? It'll make Kerry look confident, unafraid, and it'll make Bush look like what he is: a pathetic wimp. And it's probably cheaper to do than a TV ad.
