Meta dkos: Searching for patterns, one of the possible questions to investigate was
Is there a "best time" to post to make the Recommended list?
I found this intriguing. Plus, dmsilev practically solved the problem by adding in a comment:
Besides, I'm not all that sure that "late at night" is the best time to hit the Rec List. That should be an answerable question, though. Just go back through the Recommended tag, and look at a hundred or two diaries to see their posting times.
So I grabbed a list of the 2055 recommended diaries from December 19, 2005 until June 27, 2006 (today), pulled out the posting times, and generated a histogram by hour of the day. The results seem to support dmsilev's conjecture that the best time to get a recommended diary isn't late at night; the most preferred hour is from noon to 1:00 pm on the Left Coast. The recommends are spread throughout the day between 5am and 5pm pacific time (or from 8am to 8pm eastern), with a slight advantage going to the morning diaries.
