RNC to run Dems = Cowards Ad Campaign - will Dems fight back? (w/poll) -

Matt Drudge is reporting that " Republican National Committee will provide state parties with a web video prior to release tomorrow afternoon that shows a white flag waving over images of Democrat leaders making anti-war remarks."

Yeah, Drudge is not the best source. But, he does have strong ties to the GOP and WH so he may be right on this.  This would be interesting to see mainly to see how the Dem leadership responds.

I don't want them to respond with the typical demand to stop this type of advertising. This often comes off as sounding whiny and wimpy - just what the Republic party wants.  

What the Dems should do is launch an all out "ChickenHawk" offensive if this flag waving video is indeed run.  Make a video scrolling the names and reasons given for deferrments during the Vietnam era and run the long list of GOPers who have never served. Maybe flash a name then "NEVER SERVED" - and compare it with patriots like Murtha, Clark, Hackett and the rest of the fighting Dems.

This stuff has floated around the net for awhile, but has never been fully marketed directly to the American people. It may be about time for that. Particularly if the GOP wants to play hardball. The question is will the Dems play hardball back?
