I just noticed this sad milestone in the count of
Iraq coalition casualties. Five hundred coalition soldiers have died in Iraq since our president courageously landed his aircraft on a heaving slab in the Pacific, strode forth and declared, yea verily, that our mission was accomplished.
This is going to be a pretty slim diary entry because I don't have any further sentiments to express except two.
To the families of the soldiers, civilians, Iraqi police officers and everyone else who has lost someone in this military action: I am so sorry for your loss. I grieve for your loved ones.
To President Bush: Work hard clearing that brush, because you're going to be back in Crawford before you know it.
