America and Musing on the Republicans

It seems to me that the Republicans, in calling everyone else "anti-American", are indulging in a bit of projection. When we read the Founding Fathers, it seems that no political party represents what America was intended to be. I'm feeling things out here, and would love to have a discussion with others about this.
