Gas prices hurting SUV sales

"The gas-thirsty, full-sized SUV segment lost 1.2 percentage points of U.S. market share over the last two months and large pickups were down about 2 percentage points, according to Edmunds.com, which tracks the industry.
Fuel-efficient compact cars, on the other hand, gained 2.2 percentage points of market share in the same period."
its about freaking time... maybe it will now become 'cost efficient' to mass produce hybrids etc..
"The concern, of course, is that the slowdown in these categories may represent the beginnings of a structural change, perhaps sparked by consumers' concerns about higher oil or gasoline prices,"
and maybe some sort of concern for the world they live in..
it couldnt happen to a nicer bunch of people...
i continually ridicule my brother for owning one of these pigs....
the thing that really amazes me is how americans complain about finally having to pay their fair share for gasoline. Everytime if fill up in france, it costs me 50 euros... needless to say you tend to look at fuel efficiency...
