I Did It! (Voluteered)

And boy, do my feet hurt.
Today I was a voluteer at the California State Convention in Los Angeles. I was an Usher for both of the General Sessions. This is the first time I have done this (or really anything at all like it.)
While guarding an entrance to the fordidden "Clutch" room I heard Nacny Pelosi and Barbara Boxer Speak. I was very impressed by both. Boxer got several standing ovations. The other speakers in the morning session were Phil Angelides who we all know is running for Govenor in 2006. He was very well spoken and had some really good lines. Not boring at all, as I have heard some people say. Also the state Controller Steve Westly really worked the crowd.
Overall I was impressed with the sense of unity the party presented. How teachers and health workers and police and state workers...how all are uniting against Arnold. There were plenty of references to what our Republican Govenor has and hasn't done - but not really bashing so much as pointing out. That was good to.
But right now my feet hurt, my back hurts, I need a glass of wine. If I'm up to it, I'll add more later.
Oh - the only odd thing was that Mayor Hahn showed up with a rody bunch of supports who were not credentialed (you don't get in if you don't have a badge) and they were apparently "unfreindly" when they were deniged access. Well, they got in for the duration of Hahns welcoming speach and then we USHERED them all back out.
Otherwise, most of the Delgates were pleasant, though plenty of people tried in vain to enter the "Clutch" room. Silly rabbits.
