Your DKos Name--Like It? Your First? (w Poll)

On the Site Stats thread, TX Dem in DC, one of my fellow DKosers who registered immediately after the switch to Scoop--judging by his number, probably within a few hours of me--asked a good question:

UID's below 1000 is pretty rare these days.  Where has everyone gone?

It got me thinking.  One thing I've noticed is the dearth of "topical" names compared to 18 months ago; unlike in the early days of the Scoop version of Daily Kos--from the switch in October 2003 through Super Tuesday at the beginning of March, 2004--there were a ton of users with "Dean" or "Clark" in their names.  Now there's hardly any.  Did those people stop coming around to Daily Kos, or did they "become somebody new?"  And what about the people we now know by a particular moniker?  Were some of them here under a previous user ID?

And while you're at it, how satisfied are you with your moniker?  As a kid, I hated my "real life" name, but as an adult, I rather like it.  [My mom is relieved at the change of heart.]  But DHinMI?  Geeze, how lame.  It's an "accidential name," as one night in the spring of 2003 Markos posted something on a subject that I know about intimately, and if I didn't post a comment my head was going to explode.  But like the person who just tries crack once not expecting to become a crackhead, I wasn't planning for the future.  Had I to do it over again, I would have picked something different.  But only a few months after I started posting comments Markos asked me and Meteor Blades--what a great moniker--to be guest bloggers, so I was kinda stuck with the moniker.

So, if you had your DKos life to live over again, would one of your priorities be to pick a new user ID?
