Private religion and public sex

The news of the last few days has me overdosing on a religion. Let me share my thinking on this.The conservatives have it backwards when they complain about too much sex on television. It is religion that has way too much exposure. I'll go further. Perhaps religion should be private and sex should be public.

1. Sex involves other people (for the lucky)  so is primarily a social activity, while religion involves only one person.

2. Because religion involves a relationship with a being that exists in a higher plain and which may not be seen or touched most of the action in this plain goes on internally, while sex partners inhabit the same plain and can be seen, touched, etc.

3. Sex is more interesting even as a spectator sport. Far more people fall asleep in church than at a sex club.

4. No one starts a war over preferences for different sexual positions, but wars over minor doctrinal points of religion happen all the time. Therefore it is better to keep the risky religious opinions private.

5. A good performance in bed is worthy of applause, while a good performance in the pulpit will likely lighten your wallet.

I'm sure the creative among you can think of a few more.
