The Ultimate Campaign

In my latest analysis, Rove and Co. overwhelmed us last November by building a network of neighbors and parishes to spread the GOP message.  They had all the zealots, the hired guns and the indoctrinated on their side.

Here's my idea: we build a campaign structure similar to all those pyramid scheme companies like Amway.  They use the euphamism multi-level marketing but the basic idea is the same.

Incidentally, the Amway founding families happen to be the largest soft money contributors to the GOP

I'm convinced that we could build a political machine the likes of which ye have never seen.

Here's the plan:

• Every volunteer gets "campaign points" or whatever for signing up new voters to the web site.  They can also get points for their recruit's recruits (multi-level).

• Points could be awarded for contributions, volunteer hours, letters to the editor, anything.

• No monetary rewards; only symbolic things like limited edition pins & T-shirts, online rankings and such.

• The volunteer feels empowered, feels like they're making a difference because their contribution to the campaign can be measured.  They can get the recognition many of them crave.

• The campaign gets an awesome tool for tracking voting patterns and intentions, as well as a highly motivated army of people competing for a common good.

I humbly submit my idea to you Kossacks.  Could this work?
