Sandra Day O'Connor Retires! + Poll

Look out! All hell is going to break loose! Supreme Court Sandra Day O'Connor is retiring!  This is vastly different then if Chief Justice Rehnquist would have retired. If he retired then all that would have happened would have been him being replaced by another conservative. Now with the centrist O'Connor retiring everything will be up for grabs! Choice, states rights, civil liberties, separation of church and state. You name it it will be challenged.

Do you think that Bush will nominate Alberto Gonzales because it will strengthen his hand in violating our civil liberties for the so-called war on terror or do your think that he will nominate an extreme conservative? If he nominates Gonzales then he is more liberal on social issues like choice, but he will invade our civil liberties.

Get ready for the Senate to completely shut down during the summer and fall and for nothig else to be covered in the news but this nomination and the fillibuster.
