Two Things I learned on Hardball Tonight

One, Katrina Van Den Heuvel of the Nation did an excellent job framing the potential new tilt of the Supreme Court. She said it's not a question of the Court moving to the Right or to the Left, it's a question of the Court moving backward to the days before protection of worker's rights, before civil rights battles of the 60's, before protections of the environment, Voting Rights, and of course of the protection of women's reproduction rights.

I thought this recasting of the Left - Right arguments into the frame of Progress versus moving backwards was a pretty good one.

I also learned...(below the fold)

from the Editor of Human Events that Republicans are giving themselves away a little bit. No matter how many times Katrina tried to pin the Pro-Life tag on Roberts, the conservative went way out of his way to say there's no way to really know his position and that Roberts is on record as saying he was only fighting for a client (Bush I) when he said RVW should be overturned.

It's pretty clear that Republicans know what an albatross the potential overturning of RVW is, and they'll try their hardest to take that yoke off their necks.
