I was just watching a hearing on Halliburton practices in Iraq and here in the US - with cooperation from many in the Pentagon.
Now, just to give you some context, I'm a history buff, and I've read quite a bit about the Nazis, Stalin, and other totalitarian governments..
I was listening to this incredible Senate hearing on Pentagon 'no-bid' contracts with Halliburton in Iraq, on CSPAN, in which witness after witness came forward with stories about what appears to be an absolutely incredible amount of fraud and war profiteering going on there by Halliburton, who appear from what I heard to be stealing what appears to be many billions of dollars from the American taxpayer, with the cooperation of the Bush administration.
Anyway, it came to me that the practices being described reminded me of the financial practices of the Nazi regime in Germany..essentially, government by a gang of thieves..
That is something that bears much more looking into, as the reasons may be more than coincidental.
:o
Anyway, if anyone wants to follow up on this, the hearing was being conducted by Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Sen. Mark Dayton, and Rep Henry Waxman.
They heard testimony from Allan Waller of Lloyd Owen Security and Operations International, and Bunny Greenhouse of the US Army Corps of Engineers procurement division (this woman was absolutely phenomenal - clearly a professional fighting a culture of thievery - alone)
Anyway, if anyone wants more information, they posted this address where people could write..

Bluntly, government by thieves is a recipe for disaster.. something needs to be done about this or this gang of crooks will steal this nation dry...
