Governer Phil Bredeson of Tennessee declared the past weekend a tax-free holiday for lots of things educational.
Tennessee has no state income tax, so we get most of our revenue to run state government from sales taxes. August 4-6 was the first of (hopefully) yearly sales tax holidays.
If you bought clothes or computers or things along those lines, you didn't have to pay the sales tax.
I know this idea wasn't new but its the first time we did it in Tennessee and I love it :)
Tax breaks for those that really need it!
