Pelosi speaks out:

WHITE HOUSE (AP) - House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says she's told President Bush he should fire Michael Brown. She says the Gulf Coast was hit with two disasters last week. First came Hurricane Katrina, then the response of Brown's Federal Emergency Management Agency.

I'm thinking there was a concerted effort on the part of Democratic leaders to wait to respond.

I'm thinking that was probably a good idea.

It looks like they are going to slowly bring up the heat.

Dean's response has been fairly reasoned.

"Based on today's reports, it seems clear that President Bush's visit today is just another callous political move crafted by Karl Rove. It's just appalling to see how quickly President Bush and Karl Rove have mobilized a political strategy in their own defense, but simply failed to mobilize a swift response to either keep the people in the Gulf Coast region safe in the first place or aid the victims in the aftermath of the storm.

Maybe there going to start divvying up the targets and each one will go after a specific person.

Who's going after Chertoff?

phat Update [2005-9-6 21:12:30 by phatass]:

Nelson also reiterated his criticism of the federal response to the catastrophe along the Gulf Coast. Among the issues Congress needs to examine is whether the Federal Emergency Management Agency should continue to exist under U.S. Homeland Security, he said, adding that he is shocked by how sluggishly the agency initially responded to the disaster. “As the president said, the response has been unacceptable,” Nelson said.
Ben Nelson, as I forgot to say earlier, actually was one of the first Democrats to go after Bush. I live in Nebraska and I can't remember him going out on a limb like this. He's actually pretty savvy, as much as I have disagreed with him in the past. [Lincoln Journal Star http://www.journalstar.com/articles/2005/09/06/local/doc431dfa818ebdd121677967.txt]
