The bulk of the book tour wraps up tonight in Cambridge, MA. I go home tomorrow for some much needed R&R with my beautiful family. I can't wait. While I'll be doing some blogging the rest of the week, I'll be back in full force next week, and then look out. I'm itching to get back to my routine.
- From a Democracy for America press release:
Today, Democracy For America enthusiastically endorsed Ned Lamont in
his run for United States Senate against incumbent Joseph Lieberman.
Lamont surprised the pundits and Senator Lieberman with a strong
showing at the Connecticut Democratic Party Convention on Friday and
earned a spot on the primary ballot. The primary will be August 8.
- Lloyd Bentsen, RIP.
- Anyone catch the NY Times effort to out-tabloid the tabloids? Digby, Atrios, and Stoller talk about it.
- Corrupt congressmen sticking together -- Hastert reacts angrily to FBI raid of Rep. Jefferson's office. Corruption in Congress, apparently, is off-limits to investigative authorities. I don't give a shit if corruption stems from either side of the aisle. Haster invokes "the founders". I don't think this is what the founders had in mind.
- Democracy Corps polls three second-tier races: PA-07, NJ-07, and OH-01. The news is pretty good, if not downright surprising. While all three lean GOP, they are very much competitive.
- Curt Wheldon, who represents PA-07, is running as fast as he can away from Bush.
- Don't forget to vote in the polls below.
- Glenn Greenwald on the "angry left", as defined by Instapundit and the WSJ.
- If Blago loses in Illinois, it won't be because of money.
- Colbert is now the number one album on iTunes. But remember, he wasn't funny.
