Since I haven't seen a Virginia Primary diary since this morning, I thought I'd do the honors and put one up.
Turn out wasn't horrendous at my precinct. I voted around 10am and was the 24th Dem to ask for a ballot. The Dem poll worker quipped to his GOoPer colleague that he'd catch up to him yet. Keep in mind that in my district there were multiple GOoPers looking to challenge my Dem State Rep.
However, with the beastly hot weather statewide (most counties had a heat advisory in effect) and the small number of races to vote in (Lt. Gov. was the only race on my ballot), turnout will be ugly. I'll be curious to see how the vote breaks out. Here's a
LINK to the State Board of Election for you to bookmark. There's a link on that page to the results which will begin being posted at 7:30PM tonight.
Kossacks in Alexandria and Fairfax City had Democratic Primaries to replace their outgoing State Reps, Marian Van Landingham and Chap Petersen. I'd love to hear some stories from those districts.
So tell me how you voted!!
