The primaries are the time to vote your conscience, your beliefs, what you wish to happen. In the general election, people need to swallow differences, myself included. Few, if any candidates, will agree on 100% of the party platform. That makes me proud more than anxious. We don't have the Suzie Terrell's and Forgy Kerr's, buttkissers that run on their allegiance to the popular guy. Not one candidate this year, I predict, will boast this year that "I will vote with President Kerry 100% of the time. By contrast, there will be more of the Terrell's and Kerr's out there for the Repulsives. Expecting a candidate to agree with you 100% is simply unrealistic. To some, that can be frustrating. But I'm proud to be in a party that doesn't have candidates like Kerr and Terrell. They were both disgraces, and they thankfully both lost.
We need Dems at all levels of government. To those who don't like Kerry, PLEASE, do not run to Nader, or write in Dean, Clark or whomever your guy was in the primaries. A Democrat, no matter how much he pisses you off, is WAY better than GWB in that WH, WAY better than Bill Frist being majority leader, WAY better than Tom Delay being majority leader. Those people are dangerous.
I've decided to swallow my pride. I will vote Democratic, even if it means voting in Louisiana, for Chris John for Senate, who supports the FMA amendment which I strongly oppose. I think it sucks that he supports it, but at least he's honest about it. He takes Breaux's seat, and the Repubs lose a key swing vote (most likely). That's good enough for me. I really respect John Breaux, and wish him to be V.P. I think John will be way better than Vitter for LA. I hope everyone else takes this the same way.
