Tell Threemile not to renege on card check election deal

Last month, Threemile Canyon Farms in eastern Oregon signed a historic neutrality agreement with the United Farm Workers. Threemile agreed to negotiate a contract with the union when a majority of its workers showed their support by signing union authorization cards to be verified by a neutral third party named by Oregon's governor. This agreement came after more than three years of struggle and thanks to help from you and other e-mail activists.
The UFW advised Threemile on Sept. 24 that a majority of workers signed cards and that it was ready to turn the cards over to the neutral third party. To move forward, Threemile must now submit an updated employee list to the third party. It has not done so and is preventing the card check election from moving forward.

Threemile appears to be ignoring the commitment to its workers and at every turn is trying to get out of its end of the deal. It agreed to remain neutral, but instead has threatened, intimidated and wrongly fired two pro-union workers. It agreed to negotiate a contract once a majority of workers sign authorization cards, but now--despite workers standing up to the company's illegal intimidation--Threemile refuses to let this card check process move forward.
Because of the company's duplicity and outright lies we need to ask you once again to help the workers apply pressure to force Threemile to live up to its promise. Please send an e-mail today to Dean Foods--which is one of the largest dairy processors in the U.S. and currently buys milk from Threemile marketed under its Meadow Gold brand. Help Threemile workers by demanding that Dean Foods use its influence to call on Threemile to let the card check process move forward.
