Blades of less impact-1st figure skating live-blog of the season

Sun Oct 15, 2006 at 03:21:29 PM PDT

Putting my failure at snark under my belt with my diary of yesterday, I am fully embracing my destiny to narrow my identity down to possibly the most trivial feature to appear on this site (or a runner-up):the figure skating live blog.
Predictably, the show starts out with the male skaters, a US one, with the cautionary note that Japan is the real threat to US in male-skate. Next skater is Japanese, it's his birthday, and he proceeds to perform status epilepticus to one of those well-worn skating tunes. some sub-classical tune that turned up on one of those Capitol Records issues that my parents favored in the early 60's.

There's been hints that Sascha Cohen is pursuing an acting career.

I really had planned to learn more about skating so I could discuss it in a more scientific manner, but the season crept up on me, like so many things in my life are apt to do.Bail me out, Fabooj, if you can.
