"This is amazing, the carnival is back in town." -- Matt Stoller

The buzz is back, folks.  The carnival-like atmosphere has returned to the race and our team is all kinds of fired up, poised to bring this race home.  Here's a round-up of links from today's debate -- A bit more detail in the extended.

Three part video clip from the debate (link)
Ned's post-debate press conference (link)
Alan Schlesinger post-debate press conference (link)
Substance run-down from the campaign blog (link)
Some pre/post debate photos (link)

Additional Notes:
- The debate WILL be aired on CSPAN tomorrow
- Joe Lieberman's tracker is now tracking Alan Schlesinger as well
- Ned Rocked!  His best performance yet.

The exchange of the debate

Schlesinger: If you had someone doing a job for eighteen years, and after eighteen years, their record was one of complete failure, what would you do? What do you think should happen with that person?. . . Ned, you're a businessman: what would you say about someone like that?

Lamont: I'd say, "It's time to go"

Here's what I wrote on the campaign blog about Ned:

This was by far and away Ned's best performance of the debate series. Substantively, he had a command of the issues far superior to any other candidate on the stage. On style, he looked like a Senator and you could tell many of the media tips and tricks he's received paid off. Frankly, anytime Joe and Ned share a camera, the contrast between change and stay the course beams through the television.

Ned spoke eloquently about the failed foreign policy of the Bush / Lieberman tag-team. He made an affirmative case for change and laid waste to the Lieberman's warped version of bipartisanship.

Clips from the campaign blog on Joe

Joe Lieberman had his worst performance of any debate thus far. He was assailed for his "stay the course" position on the war by all four other candidates gracing the stage ... and rightfully so. He holds the position of a radical fringe on the issue.

You can also tell his campaign has been totally unprepared for Alan Schlesinger. Joe couldn't decide whether to focus his vitriol and arrogant venom on the Democratic candidate, Ned Lamont, or the other Republican in the race. He looked defeated and uncomfortable on stage. He kept running over his alotted time and Bob Scheiffer, the moderator, had to cut off his mic and repeat mulitple times that Joe's "time was up."

And Alan

Alan was Alan. He spoke forcefully and passionately about core Republican values. Some might say on style, the debate was once again a victory for Alan - - on substance, for Ned.
