Dear Senator Boxer:
We consider you to be a champion of progressive causes, and we've generously contributed to your "PAC For A Change" in the past. But we were appalled to see you campaigning with Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary. As one of the Senate's most corrupt and dishonest entrenched encumbents and a tireless Bush apologist, Lieberman epitomizes everything you should be fighting against -- that is, if you really do believe your own words on the importance of combatting DC's culture of corruption. In Connecticut, you even had the gall to lie to a reporter about Lieberman's disgusting stance against emergency contraception.
Now, we're dismayed to find you fence-sitting in the general election, when Democratic nominee Lamont so badly needs and deserves your support. Lamont couldn't possibly be running a better campaign, and that race is winnable. All that's needed is visible and vocal support from key Democrats like you to put him over the top.
Senator Boxer, we are huge fans of yours, and despite your recent mistakes, it's not too late to do the right thing. Get thee to Connecticut! A true progressive, a great honest man worthy of your support, is running against one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington. This is your time, this is the fight you should fight. And we will be right there beside you. Please campaign with Lamont, make advertisements with him, and do everything you possibly can to help him defeat Lieberman. It's the right thing to do.
Yours Sincerely,
