4th Debate Set in CT - Joe or no Joe

Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 03:23:14 PM PDT

The official blog has the announcement that Ned Lamont and Republican candidate Alan Schlessinger have accepted an invitation from the local Fox affiliate to have another debate.  Minor party candidate Joe Lieberman has been invited, but no word yet on whether he will accept.
As this is just really a rip-off diary of Tim's post at the official blog, I'll take it down if Tim shows up with a better, substative post.  It does say that the debate will proceed Joe or no Joe.  I think it would be quite something to see a debate sans Joe.  Of course, I'd like to see just about anything sans Joe.... especially the US Senate.

One other point I can raise about this race.  As many of you know, John Kerry was in town yesterday to campaign with Ned.  The reports sound pretty good this morning.  However, former Nebraska senator Bob Kerry was also in the state to campaign with Lieberman.  I have to wonder if this wasn't a ploy by the Lieberman camp to have him come on the same day.  I heard a news report last night on NPR about Bob Kerry's visit.  The reporter just kept calling him "Kerry" as is common in news reports.  For the voter who only pays a little attention, they may have heard that former Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry was in town for our senate race, and then got confused about which candidate Kerry was campaigning with.  In the story I heard, there was a Kerry here supporting Joe.  Pretty sneaky.  But not nearly as sneaky as a $387,000 slush fund.  What brave media person is finally going to dig into that??!!

One final point.... Go Ned!
