Holy Cow! - Surprise Pickup In Florida - Calderin in FL-25

This is a shocker.  Just received an email from my friend Democratic County Chair Jimmy Morales here in Miami-Dade county, FL. Michael Calderin is in a statistical dead heat with Mario Diaz-Balart. This would be a SWEET pickup. Please click over to the site and give what you can. If you are in South Florida volunteer your time.  This is one of those Holy Shit I can't believe we have a chance at this one races.

Below the fold is the email from Jimmy. It could certainly be statistically in the margin of error, etc. and he won't win, but would love to see this long shot win happen in my congressional district. Don't forget the .01 at the end of your contribution so they know where it came from. I am going to let Jimmy know the Dkos is coming. ;)  Calderin is a geek, so the victory would be all that much better.

Dear Fellow Miami-Dade Democrats,

Imagine waking up Wednesday morning, November 8th, to find that Michael Calderin lost to Mario Diaz-Balart by less than 5% points.  Wouldn't you just feel horrible if we had missed a golden opportunity to remove Mario from Congress because we hadn't done more (or anything) for Michael because we thought he didn't have a realistic chance of winning?

This is not just pre-election hyperbole.  I have read a poll, conducted by a national polling firm, that shows that, with weeks left in the race, Michael is in a statistical dead heat with Mario.  No, that was not my bad typing, Michael is statistically tied in the poll with Mario.  You don't get that kind of result in any poll unless you are in fact reaching the voters.  Michael appears to be doing just that.

He needs your help.  With a little more money, he can deliver more of that message that is clearly starting to resonate in Congressional District 25.

I know that we have many good Democratic candidates in many important races, and I obviously support all of them and ask you to support them as well (including Big Dave Patlak in Congressional District 18).  But I wanted to make sure that this race did not fall below the radar screen.  I don't know if we will ultimately win this race; but now I do know that we realistically can win it.  Wouldn't it be sweet to help the Democrats recapture Congress by giving them a victory they never expected!!

Please give what you can to Michael's campaign!
