Here is one I got from True Majority encouraging me to team up with Move-on.
Got a phone?
Then You Have What We Need to Win!
Dear Teresa,Make sure progressive candidates get the votes they need to win.

Sign up to call progressives who aren't yet planning to vote and turn them out on Nov. 7th.
We're in a dead heat -- 40+ races are ranked as "toss-ups." But there are millions of progressive people out there in must-win districts who aren't yet planning to vote. We've gotta reach 'em!
So, we're teaming up with MoveOn on a campaign to make sure that everyone who's hungry for change gets to the polls. They've taken the voter lists from the most important races in the country and found the progressive-leaning folks who are infrequent voters. It's all online with a simple tool that makes it easy to call these key voters. Together, we're aiming to make over a million of these turnout calls in the next week -- and with races being decided by as little as a hundred votes, your participation could make all the difference.
Can you take some time this weekend and next Tuesday to make calls to unlikely voters?
You can sign up to make calls from home right now, at:
Or, you can bring your cell phone and make calls in good company from a "calling party." Sign up at:

The folks over at MoveOn say they've identified more potential voters than they can possibly call on their own. That means these folks are just waiting for our call! (And if we don't reach them, no one will.)
Less than one week from now, we will have a historic opportunity to make change -- to finally hold this administration accountable and turn this country around. But to do it, we'll all need to pitch in. Can you join MoveOn's "Call for Change" effort and help make it happen?
Just go to:
With just 7 days left, let's put this thing over the top.

I have been calling for Move-on in my own district which means I am calling for Carney. I am also using the software from the Carter campaign to call for him and I will be making some calls for Gillibrand in NY.
No matter what else you are doing, most everyone has 20 mintues in the evening to make some calls.
I know it is scary the first time and sometimes you feel like you are getting too many wrong#s etc... or negative response from a few people who don't want to be bothered. But you will also get those calls where people are happy to talk to you and so glad you are making calls.
Even the calls which you find a negative experience are very useful. You are cleaning out the call files so that on election day people will be calling progressive voters who only need a push to get out and vote. Filtering out the wrong numbers now will save time on election day.
Just click on one of the links and sign up. The script is super easy and quick. You will gain valuable experience. Besides Move-on could use a thousand more callers to get to their complete list. The targeted people are those who are progressive voters but don't tend to vote in midterms. We can reach them.
It may be too late to do many things I think we should be doing to turn out the democratic vote. I am convinced that we have some work to do in the future as far as registering voters, voter protection and that we need paper ballots. However we can do this now and we can make a huge difference.
Here are some tips from someone who used to call businesses and build business files and credit reports (information much scarier to ask than if someone is planning to vote for a certain candidate).
Smile, the person at the other end can hear it in your voice.
Once you have spoken to about 4 people, you will have the script memorized and your nerves will be gone.
Be a person, not an automaton, but stay on task too. It is a balance you will find quickly.
Good luck....just go sign up. You commitment will only be to make 35 calls to start with. Many of them will be disconnected numbers. I think once you do 35 you will want to do more.
Here is part of the email I recieved from Move-on today:
Hi Teresa,Forget the laundry. Let the dirty dishes pile up in the sink. Break out the TV dinners and tell the kids to do their own homework. This week, we've got some calls to make.
We've got seven days--that's 168 hours--to make our mark on this election. And for everything we care about--our kids, our Constitution, our world--we've got to make it huge.
We're off to a strong start. Yesterday we closed out at 83,555 calls--an all-time weekday record! It's great work, but we still have a lot to do if we're going to hit our goal of 250,000 calls by Thursday night.
The calls work. We know, because we've tested them. Real people calling real people really makes a difference. Paid calls just aren't as effective.
But these calls also change people's lives.
Because this week, a MoveOn volunteer will dial a phone and talk to a woman who hadn't been thinking about voting. Maybe she's a single mother: She works, and then comes home to take care of the kids.
She tends to vote for Democrats, but she just doesn't have much time in her life for politics. But when a MoveOn volunteer contacts her, she'll listen carefully.
And we'll tell her what is possible: a better education and real health care for her kids, a Congress that'll do something about Iraq, an America in which no one ever has to go to sleep at night hungry. And she'll smile, and at the end of the conversation, she'll say, "OK. I'll do it. I'm going to vote."
She might be the one. She might be the voter who tips the balance for her race--heck, the voter that puts the whole House into Democratic hands.
And this week, we have the opportunity to show her--and hundreds of thousands of people like her--their own power. Can you make some calls towards your goal right now?
What are you going to remember in 10 years? The memo you rewrote for LuAnn in accounting? The lecture you slept through on high modernism? Or the way it felt watching the returns come in on Tuesday night, knowing that our national nightmare had come to a close and you had helped put us over the top.
Take it from us: The dishes can wait.
Thanks,
