No, I'm not talking about another Kimmit/Senor news conference.
The absence of credible on-the-ground reporting from our so-called "legitimate" news sources has become increasingly concerning.
CNN International, which is one of the three English language news sources that I have access to at the moment, is only broadcasting 1) the daily Kimmit and Senor show and 2) Jim Clancy standing in some secured area talking every once and a while about "an explosion heard in Baghdad." Fox News gives no substantal Iraq reporting at all, except citing the four American "civilan" deaths of a week and a half ago. The BBC seems totally contrite about the whole thing ...
What is happening on the ground seems like it's occuring in a state of an almost total news whiteout. I don't speak Arabic, so al-Jazeera and al-Arabiya are not much use to me ... And I don't know enough about the Iraqi blogs to gauge their credibility.
Where is the embedded reporting?
Where is the media?
Hello, is anyone covering this story?
