I know I'll probably get railroaded for saying it, but Bill Clinton and his new best bud, GHW Bush are pissing me off with their latest tin-can road show...
Clinton's parroting of the Republican talking point that now is not the time to talk about who failed the country is expected from someone who is just standing on stage to collect private money for something the administration should be handling instead of handing cash back to billionaires, but goes against the democratic principles of accountability and speaking truth to power. Maybe he should wear a t-shirt that tells if he is standing up there as a former democratic president, or a nonpartisan beggar.
More on the other side:
Now
is the time to hold these people accountable. Every time there is a moment of accountability for this administration, people fall in line with the "we can have that discussion later" rap that never, ever seems to happen, does it? By the time we get past the initial shock of a situation, we have lost the incentive to hold these fuckers to the fire and make them pay for the corruption and crimes they are committing in our names. Not to mention that this group is
so incredibly corrupt that there will always be another scandal to distract and diffuse the attention from the last one and as long as that cycle continues, we will be stuck with this group of thugs and liars.
I am pissed. Clinton's remarks do damage to the anger and motivation I see growing within many Democrats over the severe incompetence of this administration and the danger they pose to all of us.
Maybe it's just me, though. Maybe I am in the minority in thinking that this is precisely when we should attack without hesitation.
What do you think?
