I don't know if it's just the nature of many Republicans who post online, but if you go on IRC or go to Tac's board (and I urge you not to waste your time going to his board) it's amazing how many of them draw endless meanlingless distinctions to try to draw a point.
Look at this quote which seems to be gaining importance and which is on the main board:
"I have also determined that the use of armed force against Iraq is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001."
I had 5 or 6 Republicans say to me more or less "Bush never directly said that Iraq was one of those nations included in aiding the terror attacks".
Well, I suppose that is technical true, but it is also technically true that Bill Clinton never had sex with Monica Lewinsky. These poor pathetic Republicans have been reduced to using sophist defenses that would make Bill Clinton blush.
So, I'm just wondering, is this something you've also noticed with Republicans, and do you think they've honestly deluded themselves into believing these meanlingless distinctions?
