Are you suffering from repetitive researching syndrome?
- red, watery eyes
- clenched teeth
- tremors
- diaries posted days later than planned
We have a solution. Instead of each of us searching for the same information every time we need it, let's search and post it in a condensed format once, so we can each access it when needed. Madness you say? Madness indeed.
We're starting a project to create Fact Sheets on a wide range of topics. The sheets would contain a general overview, facts, quotes, talking points with replies and links to diaries, blogs and sites with more information. Similar to dkosopedia and Wikipedia, we'll focus more on boiling down information than on well written analysis. Think more bullet lists, less paragraphs.
Here's a few examples of what we mean.
Aluminum Tubes - Information regarding the Bush administrations Iraq/Aluminum Tubes claim
Cheney on Iraq - Quotes from Cheney regarding Iraq
Florida Newspapers - Links to Florida newspapers and letter to the editor email addresses
Florida Democratic Sites - Link to Florida Democratic Party sites for every country that has one, Young Democrats, College Democrats and more
And we don't care about credit. So take our Fact Sheets or whatever info you want from them and DON'T credit us. We don't care. This is us completely not caring.
Our FAQ has more information.
What's the catch? We need help. Two women, jacked up on caffeine, can not do this. We need others to help. We need people for suggesting, researching, editing and/or writing the Fact Sheets, suggesting ideas for separating the information into sections and organizing the efforts to gather information. And we need others to point out mistakes, contribute information and suggest links by posting comments that can then be incorporated into each Fact Sheet. Keep in mind, we don't ask for credit and you shouldn't expect credit either. We will, however, have a special place in our hearts for you.
We've set up forums for people to work in or comment. You don't even need to register to post a quick thought. You don't need special skills. We don't have any, so why should you? Whether you can contribute 15 minutes per day or just a one-time 15 minutes we really can use your help.
Let's show them that organized liberals is not an oxymoron!!
