Should Bush be impeached?

If this issue has already been brought up I apologize, but it's probably worth bringing up again.
A lot has been said about impeaching our King...er...President but there are a few things that we should consider before we raise a collective cry for Bush's head.
First, I agree completely that Bush and Cheney should be impeached for getting us into an unecessary war, warrantless spying and his "we don't torture" torture policies that have, amoung other things, made this the most abusive Adminstration in the of the history United States. Bush and Cheney clearly broke the law and should be punished.
That said however, it would be wise for us to weigh the impact of a demand for impeachment on our newly elected Democratic Congress.
First there is the problem of Joe Lieberman. Given that he is clearly a Republican despite his offical classification as an "Independent", a move by the democratic Congress to impeach Bush would likely push him over the edge and into the Republican court effectively destroying the narrow democratic majority in the senate.
Second, Pelosi has already indicated that she would not push for impeachment proceedings and I personally believe her reasoning on the matter is sound. After six years of Bush hitting every pothole in the road, the car is in dire need of repair. There are literally hundreds issues, and abusive laws that have been passed by the Republicans that need undoing e.g. the Clear Skies Act, torture policies, Iraq, warrantless spying, tax inequity, the energy bill to name a few. Impeachment proceedings could very well tie up the congress in a way that these critical issues don't get adequately addressed. AND if they don't get addressed, the democratic majority in congress will be very short lived.
THird is the fact that the impeachment issue will divide the democratic congress because of what I've stated above. Some, like John Conyers, justifiably, want to see Bush hang. Others, like Pelosi, see impeachment as an impediment to implementing the changes that are so direly needed after six years of Republican abuse and mismangement.
Letting Bush and Cheney walk will not be an easy pill for many (including myself) to swallow. However, perhaps, in this case, it would be better to take the high road for the sake of our party and for the country.
Bush is a lame duck, a has been on his way out. The democrats have the unique opportunity of showing the country that we're better than them. That we're not going to get hung up on revenge when there is so much that needs to get done before 2008.
