December 1st was designated International HIV/AIDS awareness day by the United Nations. This is the 19th World AIDS Day and the 25th year since the first case of AIDS was identified.

In recognition of this day Brystol-Meyers Squibb sponsors Light to Unite, an initiative in cooperation with the National AIDS Fund to increase HIV/AIDS awareness in the USA. http://www.aidsfund.org.
