That loud noise you guys probably heard was the sound of Steve Chabot, Bob Ney and Mike Turner shooting up bolt upright in their beds or easy chairs.
Jean Schmidt just barely eked out a win in the second-most Republican district in Ohio (behind Mike Oxley's 4th)--and her three new neighbors just became among the most endangered Repubs in the country.
Chabot (OH-1--the other side of Cincy) and Turner (OH-3--Dayton) are lockstep conservatives representing districts that are far less Repub than OH-2. Ney is slightly more independent, but is bogged down in his own ethical troubles.
As I see it, if we run a decent candidate in OH-3, Turner is toast. Chabot may have coasted in his last few elections, but I can't imagine the Dems putting up such a strong showing in the Cincy burbs and turning their backs on the other side of town. And the demographics of Ney's district are VERY similar to those on the fringe of OH-2.
