A couple of weeks ago, an exceptionally generous member of our community discovered that, although they had purchased their registration ages ago and had big plans to attend Yearly Kos, they were actually unable to go due to a scheduling conflict. They offered to donate their registration to another community member who could not otherwise afford to go -- and I won the lottery, so to speak.
And now, I have laryngitis -- and maybe strep -- and have had to cancel my plans to attend Yearly Kos. (I mean, besides the obvious frustration and futility of attending this lovefest and not being able to acutally talk to y'all, think about the metaphorical issues here. If nothing else, Yearly Kos is about having a voice and using it for the first time in the corporeal, physical sense, so I would be the operational definition of irony if I were to go.)
But I digress. As heartbroken as I am (I had even volunteered to lead the Northeast Caucus on Thursday) I and my original benefactor would like to offer my registration to another community member who is jonesing to go but can't swing it for financial reasons. It also goes without saying that you need to be able to make your plans lickety-split, so maybe you are within driving distance or even a local who can miraculosuly pull this together in record time. Whoever you are, please post here or contact me at my screen name at aol and we'll work out the details. To be crystal clear, this is a free registration, no strings attached, except that you need to promise to eke every last benefit out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience and become a better activist/progressive for having been there.
