Military Spokesman in Iraq Clueless

Major General Caldwell (the IV!)the US Military spokesman in Iraq wrote an editorial in the Wash Post. If you wonder why the US has failed so miserably in Iraq, Caldwell is a perfect example why. The entire editorial is here.
He begins..
I don't see a civil war in Iraq. I don't see a constituency for civil war.
Well, right off the bat we can see this guy lives in lala land
He goes on to say...
I see a representative government exercising control over the sole legitimate armed authority in Iraq, the Iraqi Security Force.
Is this guy for real? Oh and here is a good one..
I don't see terrorist and criminal elements mounting campaigns for territory. Al-Qaeda in Iraq doesn't use roadside bombs, suicidal mass murderers and rocket barrages to gain and hold ground.
He remembers no city being taken over by militias? Does he really think that a civil war has to be classically fought? If we used the term anarchy instead, is that some how better?
Or this..
I don't see a struggle between armies and aligned political parties competing to rule.
I guess this guy thinks if he doesn't see blue and grey then it can't possibly be a civil war.
He ends his noble flag waving editorial this way..
Regardless of what academics and pundits decide to label this conflict, hundreds of thousands of brave Iraqi soldiers, police officers and civil servants will continue to go to work building a free, prosperous and united Iraq. And every day more than 137,000 U.S. servicemen and servicewomen will lace up their boots, strap on their body armor and drive ahead with our mission to support these courageous Iraqis.
It is downright scary the level of incompetence that has infiltrated our military. But at least the readers of the Washington Post aren't buying it. The Wa Po allows you to comment on editorials, and the Maj Gen is getting blasted.
