YearlyKos savings via Discover Card

Just a quick note that attendees to Yearly Kos may be able to save some scratch if they can use a Discover Card. Initially there was a potential savings on hotel charges, but now additional bonuses for travel expenses could also be realized.
Here's how:
First, a long standing offer of savings at Hyatt Hotels by redeeming 'Cash Back Bonus' is available. Rather than take the cash directly, an offer of a $100 savings on a two day stay at most Hyatts for just $40 worth of 'Cash Back.' The offer is capped at two per stay of at least four nights, for a potential savings of $200 on hotel charges by trading in $80 of 'Cash Back Bonus,' for a net of $120. (NOTE: you must order the hotel savings certificates directly from Discover; please check directly with Discover for full details.)
Second, Discover just announced an increased 'Cash Back Bonus' of 5% on purchase related to travel, such as airline tickets, Amtrak fares, hotel stays, etc. This is above the usual 1%. It's capped at $1000 is spending, or $50 bonus. Also, the offer runs January through March, so paying for transportation during that time frame will work, but the actual hotel stay in Chicago will be after the offer expires. The bottom line is $120 savings offer, plus perhaps $50 in 'Cash Back Bonus' (which of course could be multiplied by other offers at a later time).
So it's not a ton of money, but if you're going to Chicago and if you've got the card anyway, why not take advantage? I know I am, and I will.
See you there!
