Drinking Liberally Boulder 12/7/06 wrap-up

Our second Boulder Broker DL meeting went very well last night.  We talked about topics far and wide in diversity:

A DailyKos Diary Rescue Ranger showed us some behind the scenes action.  Very exciting for the blogging geeks in attendance.

In a recurring theme, movies we've watched kept coming up.  For instance, I learned that I'm the last person on Earth that hasn't seen "The Graduate".  (If you haven't either, just don't admit to it when you show up.)  So I have some extra homework to do.  "Stranger Than Fiction" received warm reviews from the DL crew; I highly recommend it.  "Casino Royale" also came up for discussion.  I do agree that it was not your typical Bond flick.  Any film with Sean Connery in it garnered praise, including all of his Bond roles as well as "The Man Who Would Be King", "Dragonheart" (yes, the voice was enough), and "Entrapment".  

Go check out the Stickers on Your SUV video: very funny stuff.  A Dl'er talked some about this and I'm glad they shared it with the rest of us.

At an upcoming meeting, hopefully in January, we'll do a screening of Laughing Liberally's DVD of their last performance.  Some small details need to be worked out, which shouldn't take long.  I've seen some of their work at YearlyKos and at the party in Denver after the DL National Conference.  You won't want to miss this show, so stay tuned!

We talked about Iraq of course, the new Secretary of Defense (different hood ornament, same car IMO), the impeachment diary on myDD and dKos yesterday, and the larger Middle East problem that continues to worsen.

Congratulations to Drinking Liberally Denver South Metro and its new host Rick Munoz.  They will meet at "The Lansdowne Arms Bar & Bistro" at 9352 Dorchester St, Highlands Ranch.  If you know of anybody in the area, let them know about this newest DL chapter!
