Sorry, if this posted(I will delete if so), but O'Donnell shared his
thoughts about the Lieberman-Lamont on HuffPost. He believes, come September, Joe will drop out.
It won't be a hard decision for Lieberman. He will drop out to avoid career-ending humiliation.
Lieberman came within four points of Lamont by climbing up on the shoulders of the biggest names in the party including Clinton--Bill and Hillary. Lieberman's TV commercial starring Bill Clinton was his best. Now, both Clintons and everyone else in the Party are carrying Lamont on their shoulders. By late September, Bill Clinton will be onstage hugging his new best friend and starring in Lamont commercials. Connecticut's much better liked senator, Chris Dodd, will be campaigning for Lamont this time.
O'Donnell, FWIW, predicted on primary day(on Al Franken's show) that Lieberman would lose. He felt that it would be close though given the establishment support he had. I believe even Lamont campaign workers remarked that the ads and robocalls that Bill Clinton created for Joe were very effective, which would mean a tough race. However, Lamont has all that on
his side now. O'Donnell forgot to mention Barack Obama, who has given money to Ned, and I believe will campaign for him. Given Leiberman's inane comments over the last few days, I think Lamont will be able to close the gap(pegged at 5% by Rasmussen) and take the lead. Whether Joe will drop out or not, I dont know. But I do believe Lamont will open up a significant lead and win.
