Keep kAustin Weird--Be there or be, oh, you know the rest

Tue Feb 28, 2006 at 07:46:08 AM PDT

It's been far too long since the granola-eatin', Birkenstock-wearin', latte-sippin', long-haired pinko commie librul hippy-types in the People's Republic of Austin got together for an actual pie fight.  Frito pie fight, that is.

I'm throwing down the gauntlet below the fold.

The user IDs on this site have grown from the time I started in the summer of '04 in the 20,000s to over 80,000 now.  I know at least a few hundred of you newbies have got to be in the Central Texas area, seeing as how we're such a hotbed of subversive (read Democratic) thought around here.

If you want to get together with some of your kos brethren for some jawin' (always with the possibility of some pithy liberal-on-liberal arguing), our next meeting is this Sunday the 5th at 2pm in the Chili Parlor.

There are several primaries coming up, including TX-28's Cuellar vs. Rodriguez on March 7th, not to mention those for Gov. nominee, Lite Gov. nominee, etc.  Lots to discuss on the local level, so come out and meet with us.

RSVP in the comments below.  (And for the record, I have never owned a pair of Birkenstocks in my life, though I do admit having enjoyed the occasional latte via sips.)
