"And, you know, John McCain is a strong conservative. He's pro-life. He's strong national defense. He's a national hero. His view on family is just where most conservative Christians' views are. It's just that we had another champion back then."- Jerry Falwell. This entry is dedicated to all the liberals and Democrats who aren't quite so frightened about a McCain administration. Sure, McCain wouldn't be quite as bad as Falwell's former champion (a certain George W. Bush). However, he is still pro-life, pro capital punishment and anti gun control. McCain has been intelligent enough to always find bipartisan issues to support. It is now imperitive that McCain is exposed for what he is. A staunch conservative who has always supported the administration when it matters.
Here are just a few examples of McCain's conservative credentials:
McCain has recieved a 0% voting record from NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record.
McCain recieved a 0% voting record from the ACLU, indicating an anti-civil rights record.
McCain recieved a 100% rating from CATO, indicating a pro-free trade voting record.
McCain was rated a 25% by APHA, indicating an anti-public health voting record.
McCain was rated a 15% by the AFL-CIO, indicating an anti-labor voting record.
McCain advocated investing 20% of social security in private accounts.
McCain voted against the Brady Bill and assualt weapon bans.
McCain has advocated for stricter enforcement and penalties for drugs.
McCain went on record saying that ethanol is useless, even in Iowa.
Sure, with McCain as president we might be able to see real campaign finance reform, stem cell research, the end of torture and real progress made on global warming. However, while not a Bush clone we'd still see much of the same. McCain's ability to sell himself as a moderate makes him tough to beat in a general election. If you know any Republicans, convince them to vote for Bill Frist in a primary. If that fails, start spreading the truth...
