A
Galveston County Daily News story has a front-page headline that says "DeLay logs easy post-indictment win", and this from the article:
Tom Campbell, considered DeLay's top challenger, mustered only 25 percent of the vote.
Now let's get a little perspective. In the past 20 years, DeLay has not gotten UNDER 80% of the Republican vote, yet yesterday he was at 62%... of Republicans. An 18% DROP from his lowest primary numbers seems like he was "hurt". So, one would think that means DeLay needs to work pretty hard to get those other 38% of Republicans to vote for him in November, but instead he says this:
Not only did they reject the politics of personal destruction, but they strongly rejected the candidates who used those Democrat tactics as their platform...
Doesn't he realize that the people voting in the Democratic primary WILL vote for Lampson? And he probably shouldn't be disparaging his Repub opponents? Oh well... I'm actually quite glad that he's doing this. His stupidity will lead to an easy upset for Lampson.
