Once More Into the Breach: Truthout Defends Rove Story

Wed May 17, 2006 at 02:46:59 PM PDT

Truthout is standing by their (Leopold's?) story on both the Rove indictment and the meetings at Patton, Boggs' offices last week.  They are obviously not saying the indictment is coming out today, but they are saying the story from Leopold has been corroborated, including by main stream media reporters whose superiors won't let them go public with it.  Here's the link to I believe the latest from truthout -

This is a pretty mystifying and interesting unfolding story here, whether it's of Rove actually being indicted, of the mainstream media being reluctant to report anything on his indictment until Fitz steps up to the mike, or of Leopold's possible gullibility in believing stories he's been fed.  I honestly don't know where the truth lies, but Truthout is really going out on a limb with what they've posted on their blog - including this:

"We can now report, however, that we have additional, independent sources that refute those denials by Corallo and Luskin. While we had only our own sources to work with in the beginning, additional sources have now come forward and offered corroboration to us."

So, they say wait until Friday before trashing them and Leopold - I guess I can do that. Edited to add: I guess Truthout didn't say wait until Friday, they just say wait. I think I'm thinking that Friday is the longest I'm willing to wait before calling bullshit on them.
