U.S. Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ), chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, today announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has approved three new VA Community-based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) for Arizona. The new CBOCs, which will be located in Globe-Miami, Northwest Tucson, and Southwest Tucson, will benefit approximately 7,600 veterans.
The new CBOCs are funded through the 2006 VA appropriations bill that Kyl supported.
Congressman JD Hayworth:

House Speaker Dennis Hastert voted to increase net spending by $245 billion, far more than the average Democrat. The recently departed House Majority Leader Tom DeLay and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist voted for $329 billion-nearly as much as the famously liberal House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Some well-known conservatives, including Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.), were nearly twice as extravagant as the typical House member. What part of "conservative" do they not understand?
Hayworth also got some money for the VA and some other pet causes, and its particularly telling about this because Hayworth and the typical Arizona representatives are KNOWN for NOT getting Pork for Arizona. Arizona is one of those infamous "pay more than we get back" states. BUT NOW, that they are facing tough races, suddenly, Pork doesn't sound so bad . ...
FLAKE, Arizona's 6th District Congressman does not see it the same way:
Jeff Flake was interviewed by Paul Gigot of the Wall Street Journal on Fox. Here's a peek at your Washington, folks:
In the transportation-treasury bill just a week ago, 1,500 earmarks were added just three days before we took the bill up on the House floor. My staff couldn't even get those earmarks to see what they were until three days before.
And then we didn't know, still -- there were no names on them, so we didn't know who requested them, and they were extremely vague as to what the purpose was. Building a "facility" in a city in West Virginia. What kind of facility? We don't even know. So there is to transparency and that's the biggest problem.
These wonderful Democrats are running against these jackasses....
