Kossack E-Marketplace... Good? Bad? Who's in?

Sun Jun 11, 2006 at 06:26:14 PM PDT

Hey all, I've got a proposal. I see this site as not only a political gathering spot, but a place where Kossacks can get together informally and support each other in a lot of ways.

I saw some great photos from YKos and there was a whole area of booths, and I thought "DUH, why didn't I realize there would be booths of stuff there?" My next thought was "Why don't we do this as a person-to-person e-commerce marketplace offshoot of DKos?" ('Cause that's just how I think, yo.)

So what do you think?

My husband and I run Acorn Heads Web Development and we would be willing to both host and set up an e-commerce marketplace for Kossacks only. For a small fee (like $5 or something) you could sign up, give us your DKos info so we can confirm that you are a Kossack, and bang, you get a marketplace page to advertise your goods and services to other Kossacks, maybe even other Progressives. We can even build you a custom site for a discount off our normal rates.

One of the questions I have is will Kos allow it to be officially connected to the DKos site? I have loads of other questions of course, like:

* Is this a good idea at all?
* Is there already something like this that I'm unaware of?
* What would people pay per month for this service?
* Should it be open to Kossacks only?
* Should it be open to all Progressives?
* Should I have more chocolate birthday cake?

Wait... scratch that last one.

But anyway... I throw the floor open to discussing this issue further. Please let me know your opinions and ideas...!
