Who Will Cry For Mary Cheney? with poll

Sun Jun 18, 2006 at 05:21:52 PM PDT

Not her daddy, that's for sure! On Monday, June 26th,  Dick Cheney is coming to Minnesota to tell the world and his gay daughter Mary how "supportive" of her he actually is, by attending a fundraiser for leading homophobe and anti-gay marriage amendment proponent State Sen. Michelle Bachmann.  Sen. Bachmann is the Republican-endorsed candidate for the US 6th District seat currently held by US Senate candidate Mark Kennedy.
Multi-millionaire hosts William and Karen Hawk's
$5 Million home in Minnetrista is not in Sen. Bachmann's US 6th district, but that won't be stopping Mary's daddy from showing up.
For a mere $250.00, you can attend a reception with him, and if you want a picture with him, that will only set you back $1,000.00.

I have been frantically searching for an organized reception that I can afford and would feel was more suited for the occasion that day, but have yet to learn of anything definate.
I want to show America's newest gay icon, Mary Cheney, my support, even if her daddy forgot to.
Already I have posted my flash animation "[http://marycheneysbook.cf.huffingtonpost.com/]" over on Huffington Post, amidst at least two projects honoring Daily/Yearly Kos.
I am also concerned about the lasting impact this fundraiser could have on the reputation of Lake Minnetonka, so soon after last years unfortunate Vikings Cruise Boat excursion.
It's been a long time since I undertook any  organizing like this would require, so, if anyone has any suggestions for me, or ideas, or information regarding suitable events for Mary's daddy's visit, please post them here!
Otherwise, I'll be that guy with the picket sign at 3465 County Road 44, Minnetrista MN a week from tomorrow.
