Sometimes when I read the "Letters to Editor" in my local newspaper, I want to write back. My local paper, The Daily Press, represents a largely democratic population (most of us here voted for the last 2 democratic Presidents-that-weren't). Naturally, most of the "opinions" point out faults of the current Presidential Administration. In fairness, some of the rebuttals are printed, usually in form of: "waaaa, your liberal anti-American agenda always prints bad things about our wonderful President."
So, ever now and then, just to be fair, when the other side can come up with a coherent letter, they have to print it. This fellow, is trying to kick Tim Kaine's knees out from under him. At this moment, the Virginia government is at a budget impasse, the session ended before they finalized anything.
Here is the letter, help me work on my answer,or write your own

Kaine's true colors
I just read in the Daily Press where the House of Delegates rejected Daniel LeBlanc as secretary of the Commonwealth [the State of Virginia]. This apparently outraged Gov. Tim Kaine, who vowed that the House GOP would regret the decision to disqualify LeBlanc. Does this sound like the reaction from a real leader? The many misguided people who voted for Kaine never saw this side of him. Those of us who lived in Richmond when he was mayor know well his character. Kaine is beholden to special interests that promote ever-expanding government intervention in citizen's lives, socialist programs, and higher taxes and fees to pay for these programs.
He tried to appoint LeBlanc, who is anti-business and wants force all Virginians to join a union. The dues would be used to promote the usual union social programs and political candidates who cater to them. As he also is Kaine's friend, he could steer those who think as he does to Kaine for appointment to high postions; that could radically change our well-being.
I sincerely hope voters are taking note of what the "RINO" (Republican In Name Only) senators are doing this session: voting with Kaine and the Democrats to raise taxes at every level and add many new ones to burden taxpayers and hinder the great progress Virginians are making in tough enconomic times.

my reply, so far:
He used the word, "special interest groups" which is Republican code-speak for "bad." Sadly, the reality is that special interest groups are just regular people (the actual citizens versus corporations). He spits out the word "union" like it is the devil. I'm not going to say the unions are perfect, but workers NEED someone looking out for their best interests. When was the last time we had a minimum wage increase? Since then, the U.S. Congress has given themselves EIGHT (8) pay increases. The U.S. Congress can certainly look out for themselves, so don't tell me the workers don't need someone looking out for them.
And about the hard economic times we Virginians are having. THAT is all because of the Republican governor (Gilmore) that we had several years ago who abolished the car tax. That was REALLY a smart thing to do, our state went bankrupt. It took 4 years of Mark Warner to straighten us out, which he did such an amazing job of that he made us "The Best Managed State In America". He would be our Governor again but Virginia doesn't allow consecutive terms.
As for those RINO dudes in the state senate, maybe they are trying to get the budget approved? That may take some cooperation. It sounds like O.H. wants us to shut down the whole government and just let big business take care of us?
